What is Stead?
An Australian budget app that turns small daily money decisions into visible progress towards your goals — calm, a bit fun, and built to keep you coming back.
Do I need to connect my bank?
No. You add transactions and balances yourself, so your bank logins stay private. Manual entry is a deliberate design choice.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no billing in Stead today — no plans, no card fields and no trial clock. It is free while we are in early access.
Using Stead
What can I track?
Spending, income, budgets, goals, accounts and net worth, and shared costs you settle up.
What's Quick Save?
A fast way to log small wins — every time you put a little aside or skip a splurge — and build a saving streak. It tracks your saving habit, not a balance.
What are tracks, streaks and seasons?
Stead's gentle gamification: calm, non-punitive ways to make the habit stick. No shame if you miss a day.
Partners & sharing
Can I use Stead with my partner?
Yes. Link up to share budgets, goals and savings — and cheer each other on. It works brilliantly solo, too.
Do we have to share everything?
No. Accounts start private, and transactions and goals can be marked private. The one exception is quick saves — they have no private marking, so a linked partner can see them.
What if only one of us wants to use it?
That is fine — Stead is fully solo-friendly. One of you can start today and the other can join any time.
Privacy & data
Is my data safe?
Encrypted at rest, with field-level encryption on your email and display name, never sold, and exportable any time. The full, dated detail is on the security page.
Do you sell my data or show ads?
Never.
Account
How much is Stead?
Free while we are in early access. There is no billing yet — no plans and no card needed.
How do I cancel or delete my account?
Any time, from Settings → Account. Your data is yours to export first, and there is a 30-day restore window before deletion is permanent.
