We wanted an app we’d actually open.
We were saving for a first home in Melbourne, and every budgeting app we tried made it worse — nagging, joyless, or built as though we were each banking alone.
Stead is what came of that. We still open it every day, saving for the same deposit.

Most money apps motivate with anxiety — red numbers, guilt, the sense you’ve failed. We think that’s backwards.
